Stuffing turkey with minced meat, pine nuts , raisins, prunes, green apple and chestnuts
One of the best traditional stuffing that gives even more flavor to the turkey transforming it to the "Diva" winning the Christmas show !
700gr. minced beef
1/3 cup olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 clove garlic
1/3 cup glutinous rice (Arborio or Carolina)
250gr. chestnuts, cooked and peeled
1 glass white wine
1/2 cup raisins
50gr. pine nuts, sautéed lightly
10 -12 prunes pitted
1 cup chicken broth
1 green apple cleaned , cut into cubes
1 sprig fresh thyme ( or dried )
Saute chopped onion and garlic in olive oil, add the minced beef and pour the wine. Add rice, chestnuts, raisins, prunes and pine nuts, chicken broth, cubes of green apple, salt and pepper and simmer for about 10 minutes, until liquid has absorbed. At the end, add fresh thyme. Once the filling is ready, let it cool a bit and fill the turkey .
This recipe is for about 4-5 kg turkey .
