Spaghetti with tuna sauce and olives
A delicious Mediterranean, quick and easy prepared recipe which really worth it for you to try!
500gr. spaghetti (or any pasta of your choice)
6 tablespoons of olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
600gr. fresh ripe tomatoes, peeled and finely chopped
a little dry basil (about 1 teaspoon)
1 canned tuna 200 – 300gr. (drained from the oil or the water)
10 black or green olives pitted and cut into small pieces
1 – 2 tablespoons capers (optionally)
Heat the olive oil and saute the onion for a while. Add the chopped tomatoes, dry basil, salt and pepper and boil the sauce for about 15 – 20 minutes over low heat. 2 – 3 minutes before completed cooking, add tuna drained and minced, olives and capers. Meanwhile, boil the pasta in plenty of lightly salted water as long as stated on the packaging and strain. Pour 1 – 2 tablespoons of olive oil in the pot over high heat and add the pasta back into the pot stirring carefully for about one minute. Serve spaghetti with tuna sauce and olives.
If you wish, sprinkle with some grated cheese for pasta before you serve.
